Other than the sweltering heat, there are a lot of things that come along with summer and most of them are more on the positive side.  Think about it, school is out meaning less traffic (if you don’t live in Atlanta), vacations and pool time are in full effect, and any type of celebration is maximized times 10.

Now if you know me, you know that a good social event is one of my favorite places to be.  I love dressing up and I practically live in heels on a day to day basis.  Sometimes though, you don’t need a reason to get glam, you should always just wear what makes you feel good even if it may be considered “overdressed” to everyone else…

To me, there is no such thing. And today in particular, I just wanted to look fab and show some leg.  I had this skirt custom made by Lux Monroe of Houston, TX and honestly I had no idea what to expect.  I had seen a gorgeous green one on Instagram and I knew I wanted one but I left the color choice completely up to them.  I had an idea, but didn’t fully know what to expect.  All I knew was the thigh high split had me over-the-top excited.

Waiting for it to arrive was entirely too much.  When it comes to my mail, specifically packages and even more specifically clothes, I am beyond OCD.  I track everything like a million times a day.  It may be obsessive but my mail lady is always mixing something up but that’s another story for another day.  Plenty times things would say delivered when it wasn’t or was delivered to another residence that luckily would be nice enough to bring it over.  Trust me, you don’t want to get me started.  So anyway, back to this skirt…

I got a sneak peak via IG when a video was posted that a custom skirt was going out, but when I took it out of the package – GIRRRLLLLLL!!! Nothing did the true color of this skirt any justice AT ALL.  I put it on and was all over the place.  Lux Monroe to me has always had a very classy reputation and their clothing follows suit.  When I get to their showroom in Houston, it’s a wrap. I am pretty sure I am going to go crazy.  Each skirt is custom for the customer and you can literally get any color you like. To me, that really does mean a lot.

I know I may have gotten off topic, more times than a few, but seriously guys this skirt really exceeded my expectations.  It truly is one of those pieces that is extremely versatile, even though it may seem fancy.  I am at a point in life where I really don’t need any excuse to be all dressed up other than the fact that it makes me happy.  If you read my last post, you would know that I really am looking to be happy with myself and really embrace my joy.  This skirt from Lux Monroe makes me happy. Whether I am at an A-list event or just dancing around my living room, I’m good. Seriously.

I want you guys all to feel what I feel. I really do.  Now even though I cannot dictate your personal journeys or tell you what to do or how to do it, I will say that the first step will be to get one of these skirts.  Visit Lux Monroe on Instagram @styledbyluxmonroe or visit their site http://www.luxmonroeboutique.com/.  Get it designed exactly the way you like and tell them I sent you.  In the meantime and as always, make sure you follow @thechloebrand for more photos and exclusive posts.  Until next time guys!

– xoxo Chloe
